By: SPORTS NETWORK

Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Enterprising and Tamarando, both second last time out, head a field of eight 3-year-olds for Saturday's $200,000 El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields.

The 1 1/8-mile stakes is part of the "Road to the Kentucky Derby" series with the winner receiving 10 points toward a spot in the May 3 Run for the Roses.

Enterprising comes into the race off a second in the track's California Derby last month behind Exit Stage Left. Trained by Tom Proctor, Enterprising will start from post 5 and regains the services of Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens.

Tamarando will be ridden by another Hall of Fame rider, Russell Baze, Saturday and break from post 4. The colt is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and a stablemate of Exit Stage Left, sharing Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.

Tamarando was second to California Chrome in last month's California Cup Derby at Santa Anita. As a 2-year-old he posted wins in the Del Mar Futurity and Real Quiet Stakes, and was third in the FrontRunner, Golden State Juvenile and CashCall Futurity. He comes into Saturday's event with $505,120.

Dance With Fate goes for a second straight victory this year in the El Camino Real. The colt, trained by Peter Eurton, will start from the outside post with Aaron Gryder in the saddle.

Dance With Fate, owned by Sharon Alesia, Bran Jam Stable and Ciaglia Stable, was second in both the Del Mar Futurity and FrontRunner Stakes, and eighth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile last year. He began 2014 with a 1 3/4-length victory in an allowance optional claiming race at Santa Anita. Dance With Fate has banked $190,050 with two wins and two seconds in six starts.
