HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

BELMONT

ARGENTO: Took a ton of money for career debut, made a move on the turn to get into contention but could not sustain

his run and finished a well beaten seventh. Should bounce back for the Pletcher barn.

BREAK THE BARRIER: Finished an even sixth last out at 70-1 but was claimed by a solid claiming barn (LaBoccetta Jr.), follow

right back at a price.

DEFROCKED: Was chasing a slow pace early on while trailing the field, made a premature move towards the leaders to

get into third but could not sustain that run finishing sixth. A drop back into claimers should do the trick.

FOIST: Chased the pace from the outside, took over and fought hard right down to the wire holding on for third.

Graduates next out for Mott barn.

LOVE AND KRIS’S: Was in a perfect spot again last out but came up empty in the drive tiring to finish ninth. Hails

from top barn and give her another shot back on the turf.

LUBNAN: Bill Mott trainee was used up in a duel last out that saw the ¾ time go in 1:09:4 and tired to finish ninth.

Can offer value at the windows, follow.

MEDIEVAL SALUTE: Closed good ground to finish fourth just missing by about a length while closing into a very

slow pace, tab at a price.

MORE MOONLIGHT: Showed good speed from the inside post, took back on the turn and then came again in the

stretch to finish fourth.

OUR FRIEND TIMMY: Got going too late last out when he finished third and should continue to improve for

the Zito barn.

PREP SCHOOL: Raced towards the inside throughout and never made any impact to finish 8th. Would benefit

from a drop into claimers.

PRESENTATION: Showed good speed last out chasing the pace from the outside before tiring to finish last. Follow

this one with conditioned claimers.

SHOW BOOT: Could not reach the lead last out after breaking a step slow from the gate and was used up in a duel

but did hold on well for third. Look for a bounce back effort from this talented New York bred.

THECONFIDENCEMAN: Closed good ground to finish a close-up third against NW2X New York bred allowance

foes; barn had a rough Saratoga meeting and this horse may benefit from a switch back to Belmont.

THUNDERPRINCE: Was off to a bad start while being outrun early, made a huge move towards the lead but flattened

out late to finish third. Will key your exotics next out with a better trip.

4STARSPECIAL: STORM WARNING: Raced greenly first out before unleashing a very solid run to finish

second. In his most recent start he never really got going while still racing a bit green while racing wide into

the stretch. Talented two year old should bounce back at a better price.

LONGSHOT: SIRCHARLESSCHNABEL: Was off to a rough start while being outrun for the early part of the

race, came with a wide run to finish an even fourth and should be followed right back at a price.

TURFWAY PARK

AUBEE’S PROSPECT: Was battling for the lead while racing between horses and was right there at the wire

just missing by a half length.

BETTY SPAGHETTI: Was outrun for half mile while racing inside, swung out for the drive to get up for second

over the 1-5 favorite. Sharp now.

CAN BELONG: Vied for the lead while racing between horses; took over but tired in the drive to finish fifth. Follow

this one on either surface or wait for Keeneland to catch him on turf again.

CRUISIN SCOOTER: Was never far back and stayed steady to the wire to finish third at 48-1 and is a must use

in your exotics.

FOURWHEELER: Chased the pace from the outside post and held on well for third. Graduates with a better draw.

KENTUCKY WIND: Was outrun for a half mile before finishing up well to take fourth at 44-1; can surprise at

a big price.

LUCKY BALDWIN: Race forwardly inside and held on well for the show spot in the quick final part of

the race.

ON THE TEE: Veteran still has something left and most recent speed pop effort for fourth says he is ready to

roll with $5k claimers, tab.

TELL J: Was quickly clear for the lead but could not hold on as he had to settle for the place spot. Has some

backclass and should lead similar gate to wire.

YES ITS YOU: Chased a fast pace throughout but tired late to finish third. Will be tough with a similar effort.

4STARSPECIAL: WESTERN DOLL: Shipped in from New York and dominated scoring a relatively easy win.

3YO is on the improve so stay close.

LONGSHOT: MISS SMART ALEC: Was up close to the pace and was right there through the quick final part of

the race and was a clear third. Interesting with conditioned $5k claimers.
