Mutuel field closes as favorite in Future Wager

Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - The final Kentucky Derby Future Wager of 2014 closed Saturday with the mutuel field as the 5-1 favorite among the 24 betting interests. The final Future Wager closed Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, prior to the start of the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park and the Louisiana Derby from Fair Grounds. The 9-1 co-second picks were San Felipe Stakes winner California Chrome and Cairo Prince. California Chrome will start in next week's Santa Anita Derby, but Cairo Prince finished fourth in the Florida Derby as the 6-5 favorite. Florida Derby winner Constitution closed at 19-1 in the pool and Louisiana Derby champ Vicar's in Trouble was 36-1. Intense Holiday, second in the Louisiana Derby, closed at 20-1 while Florida Derby runner-up Wildcat Red finished at 31-1.
