By: SPORTS NETWORK
Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Reigning Horse of the Year Wise Dan is being pointed toward a season opening start in the $300,000 Maker's 46 Mile on Friday, April 11 at Keeneland. The 7-year-old gelding has been off since winning a second straight Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita last Nov. 2. "He is doing well. He is an amazing horse," trainer Charles LoPresti said. "Right now, I'd say he is 75 percent (to run), but it has to warm up and not have any hiccups." The gelding, owned by Morton Fink, won last year's Maker?s 46 Mile over 2012 race winner Data Link as he began his 2013 campaign. Wise Dan, Horse of the Year for 2012 and 2013, has earned almost $6.3 million with 19 wins in 27 lifetime starts.
