Untapable looms large in Mother Goose

Elmont, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Kentucky Oaks winner Untapable returns to the races eight weeks after establishing herself as the leading 3-year-old filly in the nation. She takes on five other 3-year-old fillies in Saturday's 1 1/16-mile, $300,000 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park.

Trained by Steve Asmussen, Untapable has drawn post 2 with Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez picking up the mount for the injured Rosie Napravnik. .

Owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds, Untapable won the Kentucky Oaks by 4 1/2 lengths with Napravnik riding. The top female jockey was injured earlier this month during training at Churchill Downs.

Untapable began the year with consecutive victories at Fair Grounds in the Rachel Alexandra and Fair Grounds Oaks. She has earned $1,124,725 in seven lifetime starts with five wins.

Joining Untapable in Saturday's race are House Rules, Joel Rosario; Princess Violet, Jose Ortiz; America, Irad Ortiz Jr.; Aqua Regia, Jose Lezcano and Stopchargingmaria, Javier Castellano. There will be no showing wagering on the race.

The Mother Goose has an approximate post time of 2:53 p.m. ET.
