Social Inclusion works ahead of Haskell

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Hallandale Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Social Inclusion, third in the Preakness Stakes, posted a workout Thursday for the upcoming Haskell Invitational.

Trained by Manny Azpurua, Social Inclusion worked four furlongs over a sloppy Gulfstream Park track in 47 2/5 seconds and galloped out five furlongs in 1:01 3/5.

"It was an easy breeze. He was fine in the gate," said owner Rontos Racing's Ron Sanchez. The colt has experienced gate problems in the past. "We've given our colt a rest since his last start. He looks better than he did in New York. He's relaxed. We think he's really maturing."

Social Inclusion finished third behind Bayern in the seven-furlong Woody Stephens Stakes at Belmont Park on June 7.

"Bayern ran a big race in the Woody Stephens," said Sanchez about the Bob Baffert-trained 3-year-old.

Social Inclusion was third to Wicked Strong in Aqueduct's Wood Memorial before his third-place finish in the Preakness on May 17.

Expected to join Social Inclusion in the Haskell from Florida is Wildcat Red, winner of the Hutcheson Stakes and second in the Florida Derby. Leading 3- year-old filly Untapable is a probable starter in the 1 1/8-mile stakes on Sunday, July 27.

"The Haskell isn't going to be an easy race," Sanchez said. "It looks like there's going to be a lot of speed in there with Wildcat Red running. Hopefully, our horse will finally win a graded race."

Monmouth Park stakes winners Albano, winner of the Pegasus, and Long Branch champ Irish You Well are also expected to start.
