California Chrome gets workout in at Los Alamitos

Los Alamitos, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome had a three-furlong workout Friday morning at Los Alamitos Race Course.

The 3-year-old colt, trained by Art Sherman, covered the three furlongs in 37 3/5 seconds on a fast track with exercise rider Anna Wells in the saddle. It was the first official workout since his fourth-place dead heat finish in the Belmont Stakes.

Owned by Steve Coburn and Perry Martin, California Chrome had an unregistered workout last Friday at Los Alamitos. The colt went two furlongs in 26 seconds and galloped out in 38 4/5 seconds.
