Public workout scheduled for California Chrome

Los Alamitos, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - A public workout has been scheduled for Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome at his home track of Los Alamitos.

Trained by Art Sherman, California Chrome will work between the third and fourth races on Saturday, Sept. 6 as he prepares for his return to the races in the $1 million Pennsylvania Derby on Sept. 20 at Parx Racing.

The 3-year-old colt, owned by Steve Coburn and Perry Martin, has been away from competition since finishing in a dead heat for fourth in the Belmont Stakes on June 7.
