California Chrome will not be by himself in PA Derby
By: SPORTS NETWORK
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - If anyone thought that next week's Pennsylvania Derby was going to be a walkover for Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome, think again as some other quality 3-year-olds are expected for the $1 million, 1 1/8-mile race. California Chrome, who will be making his first start since the Belmont Stakes on June 7, will face Haskell winner Bayern along with the top two horses from the West Virginia Derby, Tapiture and Candy Boy. Leading 3-year-old filly Untapable will be the lady to beat in the $1 million Cotillion on the PA Derby card. She will be facing Black-Eyed Susan and Alabama Stakes winner Stopchargingmaria and Sweet Reason, winner of the Acorn and Test Stakes.
