Coltimus Prime headed to Fayette Stakes

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Coltimus Prime, winner of this year's Prince of Wales Stakes, will make his next start in the Fayette Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday, October 25.

Trained by Justin Nixon, Coltimus Prime won the second jewel of Canada's Triple Crown by 3 1/2 lengths at Fort Erie on July 29. He had finished ninth behind Lexie Lou in the Queen's Plate on July 6.

The 3-year-old colt, owned by Cabernet Racing, will be facing older horses for the first time as he's coming off a second-place finish in the Ontario Derby at Woodbine on Sept. 21. Coltimus Prime has three wins and three seconds from 10 career starts for $436,583.

Also expected to start in the 1 1/8-mile stakes are Call Me George, Departing, Right to Vote and Stephanoatsee along with Code West, Ground Transport and Mr. Commons. Entries will be taken Wednesday, Oct. 22.
