Jockey Alan Garcia heading to Saudi Arabia

Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran jockey Alan Garcia will be plying his trade in Saudi Arabia.

Garcia's agent Donnie Richardson announced that the jockey, along with family, will be relocating to the Middle East kingdom. Garcia has been riding in Kentucky since 2013 after being based in New York.

The native of Peru won the 2008 Belmont Stakes with 38-1 longshot Da' Tara when Big Brown was attempting to sweep the Triple Crown. Garcia rode Lahudood to victory in the 2007 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

This year, Garcia has won 42 races from 324 mounts for $3,112,702. In his career he has earned $78,172,537 with 1,448 wins from 9,545 mounts.
