Bobby's Kitten takes Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Bobby's Kitten, ridden by Joel Rosario, rallied through the stretch to win Saturday's $1 million Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita Park.

Trained by Chad Brown, Bobby's Kitten sat off the pace being set by Reneesgotzip in the 6 1/2-furlong sprint. Bobby's Kitten, favored in last year's Juvenile Turf, rallied as the field entered the stretch and held off 7-2 favorite No Nay Never to register a neck victory.

Finishing third was Undrafted, owned by Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, with Ageless fourth from the far outside post.

The time for the Turf Sprint was 1:12.73.

Owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, Bobby's Kitten earned $550,000 for the win. The 3-year-old colt has banked $1,294,916 with five wins in 11 lifetime starts.

Last year, Bobby's Kitten finished third in the Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita as the 13-10 favorite. Earlier this season he won the Penn Mile at Penn National.

Bobby's Kitten paid $16.40, $8.00 and $6.20. No Nay Never returned $6.60 and $4.80, and Undrafted paid $7.60 to show.
