HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

TURFWAY PARK

LOCUST TRACE: Was able to reach a forward spot early from a wide post and draw clear for nice win in her latest; daughter of Elite Squadron takes another.

FANCITA MAE: Couldn’t reel in wire-to-wire winner in her latest, but did all she could with clear second-place effort; try again for trainer J. Oviedo.

PICKIN POCKETS: Rallied for third in tight finish when making her first start since a fifth-place finish at BtP in mid-September; rallies next time to take measure of cheapies.

MUSICINTHEHOUSE: Set the pace, shook clear in the lane, and weakened in the late stages to manage third when in from CD for his latest; follow for owner/trainer M. Pinzon.

SET THE SAIL: Classy veteran settled for sixth when in from CD for latest stakes attempt; note, he did stumble at the break in his latest, and can be a major player here this winter in the right spots.

CHARMING TALULLAH: Chased throughout in game fashion in her debut placing behind winner who clearly led throughout; follow for trainer W. Cowans.

KERISMA: Went favored when in from CD for her latest attempt, but could only mount a rally for third after she was reserved early in a race where top two finishers were pace players throughout; another tumble.

TALIESIN: Put in prolonged run to be along in time for win by a head in her latest when always wide; must respect right back with cheapies.

RAFEEN: Finished five lengths clear for the place award when behind front-running winner in his latest; his turn for graduation next time.

4*SPECIAL: B B THE KING: Settled early between rivals, rallied wide, and loomed boldly in the lane but could only ultimately manage third in his latest; sustained run for score next time.

LONGSHOT: GHOST TIME: Probably wasn’t helped by post position 12 when sixth in his latest start; can certainly improve upon wide mild bid.

PENN NATIONAL

GIA SCALA: Took tote play and could only manage mild bid for fourth in her most recent effort; capable of more, and deserving of another chance.

JARGON: Raced tenth early and improved his position to fifth in his latest; needs pace/race luck to set up late move.

HUMMINGBIRD: Managed fourth of 10 when one of only two first-time starters in her debut spot; plenty to build on.

SMOKING FOR FREE: Shook off pace pressure, led by two lengths in the lane, and lasted for narrow score in his latest; respect for chance at another in current sharp form.

SOUL GLEAM: Broke eighth out of 10 in his latest, and did put in a bid to pick up fourth; stay on board with G. Albright trainee.

4*SPECIAL: DEPUTY CAVALIER: Made the pace and weakened to third, when beaten only a neck for second, in his latest; try again for trainer C. Doran.

LONGSHOT: HOW COME: Played chasing role behind winner who was always clear and returned $3.00 as the betting favorite in dominant win; improves upon fourth-place try at square ticket.
