HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

AQUEDUCT

CALLING ME HOME: Took some money for her debut going off 6-1 in a seven horse field, came out running in sixth, came wide around the turn and finished up fourth late about 11 lengths off the winner, needed that race and more ground the better.

DARLING BRIDEZILLA: Six year old mare was making her first start off the claim last out, was hustled away from the gate, battled on the lead throughout but just couldn’t hold off the late run off the closing winner checking in a solid second at 8-1; tab.

HORATIO: Was sent off as the 5-2 third choice last out, was so far back over a sloppy/sealed track most recently, caught up to the field into the lane and passed one rival late to finish fifth less than three lengths off the winner, stay close.

MAXANA: Closed well through the lane to finish second behind the favorite despite having to race behind some slow early splits, fits with $12.5k claimers and just needs a pace to get it done, follow.

MONEY MULTIPLIER: Was sent off at 5-1 for his debut, broke from the rail post, saved ground while racing in ninth early on and closed well to finish third, should improve with that race under his belt and the more ground the better, keys your exotics, follow.

MR. MASTERPIECE: Has been in decent form over the last six months and most recent third against NW2X statebred allowance foes at 29-1 was a good effort, must use this runner in all exotics right back.

MY WON LOVE: Moved up to face allowance company last out, was right up on the pace after a ¼ mile but just couldn’t get to the leader checking in a solid second, in good form right now, follow.

PLEIADIAN: Returned from a month layoff last out and was making the first start off the claim for the Tom Morley barn, chased a sharp pace over a sloppy/sealed track and tired in the drive to finish fifth at 11-1; needs a drop in class to show his best, follow.

SEEKER: Six year old gelding came out running last out, pressed the leaders going two turns for more than half mile but tired to finish a well beaten fifth, give this one a look next out with a turnback in distance.

TOWERING MOON: Hadn’t been seen since March but was returning as a first time gelding, was off to a sluggish start racing in ninth for more than a half but before closing strongly to finish third at 7-1; all set now.

BEST BET: NON STOP: Seven year old can be a handful at times, got off slowly last out and rushed up to chase the early leaders, was in contention into the lane but had to settle for a close-up fourth, should be all set next out off the claim.

LONGSHOT: AWESOME HEART: May be a better sprinter but was up against it last out breaking from post 10, raced three wide around the first turn, was wider after that moving in contention but tired late to finish sixth, tab on the turnback.

LAUREL

COCO KNOWS: Five year old gelding was making his second start off an October layoff, came out running for the lead as the longest shot (13-1) in the race checking in second late, fits at this level at a square price.

DRAIN: Five year old gelding was taking a drop in class last out, was outrun some early on racing in fourth, started to move up on the turn, angled out four wide into the lane and finished a good second just a neck behind the winner.

GETAWAY KEYS: Four year old filly came out running for the lead, was caught four wide early on, raced in between horses into the lane but tired late to finish fourth, can prove tough if she can clear early on.

ROCKY ROMANO: Six year old got away in sixth early on last out, started to move around the final turn but couldn’t get to the two leaders checking in third at 9-1; in good form right now.

SPANGO: Four year old gelding was coming off a September layoff last out, set the pace while under pressure over a muddy/sealed track but tired when it counted to finish fifth at 21-1; needed the race and a drop in class could do the trick.

BEST BET: MINESCAPE: Got away in fifth early on, made a big move to take over into the lane but came up a nose short in a solid effort, will prove very tough right back off the claim.

LONGSHOT: SAY IT MARIA: Has raced evenly in her four prior efforts, all against maiden special weight company, was sent off at 68-1 last out, got away in fifth, moved into fourth past the half and stayed on well late checking in fourth, a drop into a maiden claimer gets it done.
