HORSE TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PENN NATIONAL

RACKMAN: Took the first turn wide, chased the pace, and weakened to fourth when in from WO for his first start since late-November; something to build on.

BET ON JACK: Overcame a slow break and rallied to clear score to post repeat by way of WO for his latest; heavy hitter is true to his name and has been on the board in 21 of 30 lifetime trips.

U S MAUREEN: Chased, led, and weakened to third in an improved try getting back to route trip most recently; stays on our tickets.

START AGAIN: Took the first turn wide and settled for third behind five-length winner when making just her third career start, and first at route trip, most recently; developing sort.

LA GREY ZULIANA: Gave typically solid effort when she made up plenty of ground late to finish second, beaten only a neck, in her latest; in the exacta in 33 of 57 lifetime starts.

4*SPECIAL: BO BULL: Has chased and given out in both starts since back from a two-month break, but didn’t have best chance from post position 10 of 10 in her latest; moves up quickly now.

LONGSHOT: BUCK THIEF: Finished fourth, beaten only a couple of lengths for second, in acceptable try on class rise most recently; could surprise similar crew, as prior form was sharp.

OAKLAWN PARK

OVERLAND PARK: Shows long string of workouts dating back to late-October at RP in anticipation of his racing debut; decent works on local surface since arrival make him one to follow.

DIESEL ONLY: Has yet to run a poor one through three career starts, and most recently finished third at CD after show of early speed on Nov. 27; steady local breezes for return.

CAPE SONG: Finished second when last seen in June at MTH, but appears to be training very well locally now; daughter of Unbridled’s Song gets maiden score.

SWEET DIVA: Began her career with a win and subsequent placing at stakes level, only to fade to fifth when last raced in mid-December allowance try at FG; curious to see how 3YO filly handles dirt here.

WE BE STORMIN: Won his maiden in off-the-turf route when making just his second career start at LaD in mid-September and is unraced since; interesting 3YO prospect is working well here.

4*SPECIAL: BLUESMAN: Finished second and then fourth in a pair of tries on dirt at CD to begin his career, then could only manage seventh in latest over FG turf; ready to rebound on local dirt.

LONGSHOT: DENALI SOUTH PEAK: Hasn’t raced since early-September at RP, when he showed speed and faded to fourth; good prior form and recent works here make him one to follow at square ticket.
