By: SPORTS NETWORK

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (SportsNetwork.com) - Horse of the Year California Chrome arrived safely in Dubai for this month's $10 million Dubai World Cup at Meydan Racecourse.

Trained by Art Sherman, "Chrome" left Los Angeles on Tuesday and arrived Wednesday to train for the 1 1/4-mile race. The 4-year-old chestnut colt will take on eight rivals on Saturday, March 28.

Also entered for the World Cup is Lea, winner of last year's Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park. Lea is trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott who saddled Cigar in winning the inaugural World Cup in 1996.

Defending winner African Story will try to become the first two-time winner of the race. Others set to run are Prince Bishop, Candy Boy, Epiphaneia, Side Glance, Hokko Tarumae and 2013 Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Ron The Greek.
