Carpe Diem's owners gear-up for Derby

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - The owners of Kentucky Derby contender Carpe Diem, Stonestreet Stables and WinStar Farm, have launched an official website for the 3-year-old colt.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Carpe Diem won the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on April 4 and is expected to be one of the favorites for 141st Run for the Roses on May 2 at Churchill Downs.

"Whether it's through our website or social media channels, Stonestreet strives to share current news about its stars," said Stonestreet Stables' Barbara Banke. "With WinStar, we will bring you into our magnificent colt's journey to the Kentucky Derby, as we launch Carpe Diem's SeizeTheDerby.com website."

Carpe Diem has won both of his 2015 starts, posting a five-length win in the $350,000 Tampa Bay Derby on March 7 followed four weeks later with his three- length victory in the $1 million Blue Grass.

Last year, Carpe Diem won his debut at Saratoga in September before capturing the $500,000 Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland by 6 1/4 lengths in his second start. He suffered his only loss as the 9-5 favorite in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile to Texas Red.

The chestnut colt has four wins from five starts for $1,519,800.
