By: SPORTS NETWORK

Elmont, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Mubtaahij, 8th in the Kentucky Derby, had a three-furlong workout Wednesday morning at Belmont Park in preparation for the 147th Belmont Stakes on June 6.

Trained by Mike de Kock, Mubtaahij covered the three furlongs in 38.05 seconds on a fast Belmont Park main track. The 3-year-old is owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum and will be ridden in the 1 1/2-mile Belmont by Irad Ortiz Jr. after having Christophe Soumillon in the saddle for the Run for the Roses.
