Beholder has workout for Adoration Stakes

Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Two-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder worked a mile Thursday morning at Santa Anita ahead of next week's $100,000 Adoration Stakes.

Trained by Richard Mandella, Beholder covered the eight furlongs in 1:38.60 with Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens riding.

"It was just a nice maintenance work," Mandella said. "She's ready to go for the Adoration."

Beholder is coming back from an illness that kept her out of last month's Vanity Stakes.
