HORSES TO WATCH
By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB
TURF PARADISE
BENDALEE: Trailed the field early on and closed ground to finish third in a decent final time. Tab
this one on the turf next out.
DUN RINGILL: Battled head to head for the lead through swift fractions and wasn’t a
badly beaten sixth and should be tough on an easy lead.
LASTCHANCETODANCE: Made an early move into second and stayed on well to finish
second behind the wire to wire winner at odds of 45-1, follow.
RED CREEK: Was right up on the pace through quick splits and stayed on well for third at
37-1 over sloppy footing; try right back at a price.
ROYAL SUN: Was step slow from the inside but was quickly to the lead and held that
advantage into the stretch only tiring late to finish second at 27-1; tab with $3k claimers.
TALLADEGA DUST: Wasn’t that far off the winner last out when second at 60-1 and should
be followed back with maiden claimers.
TORRY: Wasn’t that bad when finishing fourth last out at 82-1 and fits nicely with
$3k claimers; tab.
4STARSPECIAL: ZEEVILLE: Flashed some high early speed and held a clear advantage as
they approached the stretch and tired to finish fourth. Can lead wire to wire over $6.25k claimers.
LONGSHOT: IHOPETOBEAWINNER: Was quickly clear to the lead, battled for that lead
through a solid opening quarter mile and tired in the drive at 61-1; can clear off at pop at a big price.
GOLDEN GATE
BAY COM THREE: Showed added interest for trainer Art Sherman when stretched to
one mile Nov. 18. Doubt you’ll see 51-1 odds again though.
BOLD MANGO: Hasn’t won in the last two years, but is very competitive over various types
of surfaces. Gets some bang for your buck.
CLASSIC EDITION: Snapped out of seconditis [three straight seconds] with a one-length
tally Nov. 19. Filly always runs her race.
EL PRADO’S BOY: Son of El Prado (Ire) out of a Known Fact mare will show his best when
switched to the turf. Follow off the claim.
EVITAN NATIVE: Ran O.K. finishing fourth last time, considering she was coming off an
11-month layoff. Should be tighter for her next start.
FREE AMERICAN: Has burned quite a bit of money since earning his diploma Oct. 10, while
running second and third. Can’t ignore versus starter allowance foes.
GINGER HOFFA: Didn’t take kindly to the stretch out to two turns, taking the first turn wide.
Gets long overdue victory on the cut back.
I FOOLED YOU: Was ready to run at 53-1 last time, finishing second by a nose over a yielding
turf course. Don’t let this one fool you again.
LADY BOSWELL: Broke her maiden for an $8,000 tag Oct. 22, then ran over her head
while sixth most recently versus $35,000 claimers. Make the play if dropped down in class.
MOLTO VELOCE: Finished a solid third, making her third start off the long layoff. Headed
in the right direction; $12.5k taggers.
TONY’S ROYALTY: Showed strong speed [:22.16, :44.71] in second-place finish last out
Nov. 19. Ready to post his first victory since July.
TOO FAST TO TOP: Out of his last four starts, his best race by far is on the turf [fifth-place
finish at Bay Meadows Oct. 8]. Wait for him to get back on the sod, then make the play.
4STARSPECIAL: CLEVER TRUCE: Got bumped at the start in latest, but didn’t let that slow him
down, bounding under the wire two lengths clear. Solid turfer from low-profile connections.
LONGSHOT: FORTUNATE SON: After several dismal performances, he responded with a
third-place finish at 35-1 last out Nov. 18. The price should make it worth the while.
