HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

GULFSTREAM PARK

EMTYAZAT: New York invader really seemed to enjoy her

new surroundings, crushing a group of maidens by 10 ¾

lengths in her local debut. Right back at the next level.

FEARLESS DANCER: Has really turned the corner since getting

stretched out in distance, including a second-place finish most

recently. Make the play.

FLIGHT TO EDEN: Gained valuable racing experience when

fourth in his debut after posting a mediocre worktab. Expected

to move forward.

LET’S COAST: A slow start may have hurt this Allen Jerkens-trained

filly last out. There is clearly talent there, so stay close.

ROMPBURGER: Appeared to be getting back on track after a pair

of dismal efforts, but took a step backward stumbling at the

start and losing the rider in latest. Cross a line through that outing and try again.

SEW SPARKLY: Keeps running fourth since notching her

maiden Oct. 28. Can sneak up a few spots at a price; use in the gimmicks.

SPIRIT OF THE SOUL: Owns a pair of open-length victories at

$12.5k, but hasn’t fared well when placed above that bracket. You

 know what to do.

STOLEN COMMAND: Outran her 40-1 odds in her debut after

breaking slowly, finishing fourth. Right back against a similar bunch.

SUGAR PLUM GIRL: Ran a great third in her debut on the grass

Oct. 14, then turned in a dismal sixth as the heavy chalk on the

Calder dirt Dec. 30. Tab when back on the sod.

TOP HILL: George Weaver trainee found herself in a bit over her

head in the London Lil S. last time. Gets the job done versus allowance foes.

4STARSPECIAL: SIR SWERVALOT: Has caught some trouble in both

of his starts, but has still posted a win and a fourth-place finish. Think

 he’s the real deal.

LONGSHOT: RITMO DE SON: Two starts from this colt since returning

from the lengthy vacation. The foundation is there; it’s time for him to step up now.

FAIR GROUNDS

A WISH FOR TRAVIS: Brings plenty of early speed which figures

to make her dangerous at currently reduced class level; can lead sprinters.

ALL TEED UP: Rated, moved, and drew off for score in latest when

making the second start of his current form cycle; stays sharp in

first start off claim by trainer Asmussen.

FIRST APPROVAL: Has chased pace and faded in each of her two

starts since return from break; note, filly has tried rapid turf

dashes and figures set for front-running score now.

MAY CAT: Saved ground but never mounted a threat in

uncharacteristically dull effort most recently; claimed by top Catalano

barn, he turns things around quickly.

OUR GANG: Rallied for fourth from well behind soft pace in

latest, and also had burden of wide perch; primed for third start of

current form cycle.

PRIME QUEEN: Held stretch lead but came up empty late and had

to settle for second; veteran mare brings strong overall mark and

 gives barn many options.

ROAD RULER: Survived pace heat to post game neck win over 11

opponents in impressive career debut; expensive son of Unbridled’s

 Song well on his way.

SILKY ZARB: Veteran has posted 14 career wins and went well

for improved fourth in latest; lightly raced of late, he brings some

upside for winter.

SUTTER’S GALAXY: Settled for second behind runaway winner

in large group most recently; offers value in gimmicks.

UNBRIDLED TRICK: Underachiever lacks winning profile but seems

to be knocking on door as second-place finish in latest was step in

 right direction; stay close.

4STARSPECIAL: RELENTLESS RED: Loomed a dangerous speed

runner in latest, but hopped at break losing best chance; note,

gelding went very well through traffic for third nonetheless.

LONGSHOT: OTTAWA CHIEF: Hasn’t shown much staying power

of late, but brings speed that will always make him a player; likely to score on drop for trainer Vazquez.
