HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

TAMPA BAY

ASHWIN: Chased and stayed on for third in improved effort most

recently; third start of current form cycle brings top effort and diploma.

DAN’S SOLDIER: Dueled and faded to fifth when attempting a route of

ground for the first time in his career most recently; experience helps regardless of return trip.

EXCLUSIVE HOPPER: Rallied strongly from wide spot to draw clear

as popular winning favorite; right back in current form.

GERUASE: Dueled and faded in latest, but sharpness shown was

encouraging; remember, gelding fired big shot in prior start when

gaining for second; solid overall mark.

IVARS BLUES: Showed breakaway early speed when back on turf

for latest, but faded when it counted; speed/tired in each of last two, and

 set for better now.

ONLY SON: Caught nice group when fifth in latest; lightly raced 4YO colt

has early speed and is an improving type.

TABLE TALK: Showed some improvement for fourth in latest, which

was just his second start since last-February; 7YO gelding reserved

right to need a couple of leg stretchers.

VANTAGE STAR: Rallied for second when stepped up to allowance

company for her first start since claimed by trainer Pecoraro; filly worth watching.

4STARSPECIAL: AWOL SOLDIER: Moved well to contention, and while

wide, before understandably flattening out in latest; proven winner

primed for third start of current form cycle.

LONGSHOT: DYNAMITE DUCK: Turned in fair fifth most recently,

but figures sharper for experience having gone from turf to dirt for

 said effort; speedy filly.

OAKLAWN

CARROLL COUNTY: Hails from top barn and showed his

gameness getting the job done back in March of 2004 in his debut.

Works say he is ready to roll.

CAT OF TOMORROW: Always puts in an honest effort but has not

been able to put it altogether. May fare better if he can get

back to the scene of his maiden breaker, tab.

COJET: Six year old has not been seen since the Summer time but

show workouts that will have him prepared for this upcoming

meeting. His backclass gets him there first.

COOKIE BIGHT COVE: Well bred 4YO from Smarty Jones sire

(ELUSIVE QUALITY) finally broke through to break his maiden.

Needs proper placement with winners at the Spa.

CRAP SHOOTER: Shows a bullet work most recently at the six

furlong distance and should be set for a top effort.

DEL NORTE: Has been racing in Louisiana of late but has shown up

here in the past; a change of scenery will do him good.

SWOOP: Shows a bullet breeze most recently in 49 flat in preparation

for the upcoming meeting. Check the entries for this one.

TWISTED FORTUNE: Showed a nice breeze most recently in preparation

for opening week, looks set to go, tab.

WATCHSUSANRUN: Broke her maiden here last year and may try to

find her form here again, tab.

4STARSPECIAL: WILD WILD WEST: Doesn’t always get the job done but

does have seven second place finishes, is looking to have a huge meeting.

LONGSHOT: THUNDER CLOUD: Well bred three year old was well beaten

in his career debut at Keeneland while going off at huge odds. The time off

and the solid a.m. drills point to a turnaround, stay close.
