HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

TURF PARADISE

ACE THE EXPERTS: Battled head to head early, took over the lead

but could not last in the six and one half furlong race; scores over $8k claimers.

ALL IN THE GATE: Forced the pace, battled on the lead and stayed on

well to finish third despite the pace pressure; follow with $3k claimers.

IF IDA: Battled head to head early on through a quick opening half mile

and held well for the place spot. Takes them all the way next out.

JACK DUGAN: Just missed last out by a head to the favorite while making

up good ground in the drive; sharp.

MARK OUT RYTHM: Sprinted clear early on from the inside and laid

down solid splits before tiring just missing the place spot; gate to wire

next out.

PURELY SPECIAL: Closed from well back to finish second behind a

runaway winner and is set to score next out with NW2L $4k claimers, tab.

TU TONE COROZON: Trailed the field all the way to the top of the stretch

before closing good ground to get up for third at 64-1; tab with NW3L claimers.

4STARSPECIAL: QUINTONS RELAUNCH: Stalked the leaders while

racing four wide, took over and drew off to score by six lengths; up and

coming three year old.

LONGSHOT: PRETTY JOSETTE: Was sent to the lead through some

quick splits before tiring in the drive to finish fourth at 23-1; the price will

 be right with maidens.

FAIR GROUNDS

COSMIC KRIS: Stalked the pace, took over, and held gamely to score

by a nose over nine opponents in latest; right back versus winners.

EXEMPT: Posted a career-best "fig" in latest, and while caught wide

attempting to rally; dangerous Gill/Vazquez ticket has this filly headed in

right direction.

FOLKESTONE PARK: Has finished second in both starts since return from

July-layoff; back-classy veteran set for better following claim by Gill/Vazquez

connection.

JER BEAR: Rallied to make lead and just failed when second, beaten

just a neck, in latest; stamp NW2L score past due at this point.

JERSEY CITY SUE: Rated, rallied to contention, and faded a touch to

fourth in fair attempt in first try versus winners in latest; improves dramatically now.

MR. KIT KAT: Seems to be a learning-on-the-job type and has shown

subtle improvement of late; catches right group of turf maidens before long.

PROPER SUNDAY: Rated and never mounted serious rally when well

supported on tote for latest; 7YO gelding a very interesting $5K-claim by

 winning Asmussen barn.

ROYAL SNOOZE: Moved wide to contention and flattened out to finish

fifth in his first start versus winners most recently; primed for best in third

start of form cycle.

SILENT TYPE: Tried to rally behind soft pace on turf most recently and

had to settle for third as the beaten favorite; returns to winning form in a hurry.

TIGHT SPIN: Well-traveled sort has fell flat in pair of starts since arriving

on local scene, but is in good hands in Howard barn and should improve; patience.

4STARSPECIAL: GET SET: Chased and faded in first attempt since last-August,

but return and course experience should only help this lightly raced 4YO

filly going forward; had trained well.

LONGSHOT: POINT OF AMERICA: Brings plenty of early lick, and simply

put this 8YO gelding has long been one of our favorites; primed for stretch

 out and score on sod.
