Tampa Bay stakes attracts 12

Oldsmar, FL (Sports Network) - An evenly matched field of 12
three-year-olds has been entered for Saturday's $100,000 Sam F. Davis
Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. The Davis is the final local prep race for
the March 19 Tampa Bay Derby.
The top earner in the field is Killenaule, who will start from post nine. Chris
DeCarlo has the mount on Killenaule, who has earned more than $198,000.
The colt is trained by Todd Pletcher for Michael Tabor. Killenaule has just
one start this year after winning four of nine races in 2004, including a
stakes race at both Delaware Park and the Meadowlands.
GP's Black Knight has bankrolled $89,500, while winning two of eight
career starts. Trained by Nick Zito, the three-year-old is owned by
Robert LaPenta and Gary Player. GP's Black Knight will break from post
five with Cornelio Velasquez riding.
Coming in with better than $76,000 in earnings is Captain Lindsay. The
colt will start from post seven with Jesus Castanon in the saddle. Captain
Lindsay is trained by Manny Tortora and owned by A.O. Lewis. The
three-year-old has won two of seven starts and will go after his
first stakes win.
Completing the field for the 1 1/16 mile race are Soused, Oak Forest,
Nicandro, Summer Legacy, Coyoteshighstcall, Stormy Jim, Get Down,
Mad Adam and Andromeda's Hero.
