HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

SUFFOLK DOWNS

COLONIAL LOOT: Trailed the field early on through some decent splits

but closed for third last out just missing the place spot; fits with $10k claimers.

HIT NOW: Was obviously moved up over the wet track scoring by amost

nine lengths, going wire to wire from a tough post over $4k claimers. Calls

on backclass to score with better with a similar effort.

HOLIDAY PEAK: Closed some ground in the stretch to finish a clear third

last out in a reasonable time; one to follow with $5k NW3L claimers.

KILLER APP: Dropped back at the start after breaking from the rail post, chased

the pace up the inside and closed well for second behind the favorite at 48-1; the

value is there.

ROBERT’S TRIBUTE: Chased a quick pace last out but could do no better than

third in a race that went in a solid time. Should be right there next out.

SPLASHING PRINCESS: Chased the odds-on choice last out over a very

sloppy track, took over but was run down at the wire and finished second at 18-1, tab.

4STARSPECIAL: FLAXEN FLYER: Broke a step slow from the inside, rushed

up towards the leaders but had to settle for the place spot to the wire to wire

winner. Veteran will be tough with similar group.

LONGSHOT: SECRET SPOT: Was right up on the pace last out at 28-1 but

had to settle for third after the favorite blew by the field in the stretch; fits with

 NW1X allowance foes.

DELAWARE

AMADOR: Bobbled a bit at the break in latest, then failed to get on track in

sixth-place finish; first start since mid-March only helps, and turf may be

 in his future.

BECKY’S CAT: Raced a bit flat in latest, but after rocky getaway from

gate; filly is deserving of another chance.

BRIONY: Passed only tired rivals when a distant fifth in latest, but was claimed

for $5K by winning Scott Lake barn; a must-use in NW2L spots.

CONTRAST: Daughter of Unbridled and Safely Kept raced with pace and

drew clear to take her debut by four lengths; a star in the making for

Jayeff B Stables/Goldberg ticket.

DANCE FEE: Showed new dimension racing on the pace in latest, and stayed

on strong to finish to be second, beaten just a length; next time.

FLANKED IN GOLD: Battled between pace rivals and weakened to fourth

when making his first start stepping up in class off claim by Bob Klesaris; next time.

SARAH BEANER: Brings back her share of checks, so make it a priority

to use her in gimmicks; along for third behind a pair of rivals who got away

 in latest.

VOLLEY BALL: Chased pace, briefly held the lead, and weakened to third

behind dominant winner in latest; speed makes him a player in lower-end

claiming ranks.

4STARSPECIAL: XTRA TOUGH: Battled on pace, opened stretch lead, and

weakened late to finish third but was beaten only a length in first start

since last-August; primed now.

LONGSHOT: ONE TOUGH HONEY: Raced on pace and stayed on gamely

for third when dropped to appropriate NW2L spot most recently; winning

D. Capuano barn.
