Afleet Alex installed as 6-5 favorite

Elmont, NY (Sports Network) - Preakness Stakes winner Afleet Alex has been
installed as the 6-5 morning-line favorite for the $1 million Belmont Stakes, which
will be held on Saturday, June 11 at Belmont Park.
A total of 11 horses are entered for the 1 1/2 mile race, which marks the third leg
of racing's Triple Crown.
Afleet Alex, who rebounded from a third-place showing in the Kentucky Derby to
win the Preakness, will be ridden by Jeremy Rose and will break from post position 9.
Giacomo, the upset winner of the Kentucky Derby and third-place finisher in the
Preakness, will start from post 5 as the 4-1 second choice and will be ridden by
Mike Smith.
Trainer Nick Zito, who captured last year's Belmont Stakes with Birdstone, has
three horses in this year's field -- Andromeda's Hero, Pinpoint and Indy Storm.
The other horses entered include Nolan's Cat, A.P. Arrow, Southern Africa,
Watchmon, Reverberate and Chekhov.
