By: SPORTS NETWORK

Elmont, NY (Sports Network) - Preakness Stakes winner Afleet Alex has been

installed as the 6-5 morning-line favorite for the $1 million Belmont Stakes, which

will be held on Saturday, June 11 at Belmont Park.

A total of 11 horses are entered for the 1 1/2 mile race, which marks the third leg

 of racing's Triple Crown.

Afleet Alex, who rebounded from a third-place showing in the Kentucky Derby to

win the Preakness, will be ridden by Jeremy Rose and will break from post position 9.

Giacomo, the upset winner of the Kentucky Derby and third-place finisher in the

Preakness, will start from post 5 as the 4-1 second choice and will be ridden by

Mike Smith.

Trainer Nick Zito, who captured last year's Belmont Stakes with Birdstone, has

three horses in this year's field -- Andromeda's Hero, Pinpoint and Indy Storm.

The other horses entered include Nolan's Cat, A.P. Arrow, Southern Africa,

Watchmon, Reverberate and Chekhov.
