HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

WOODBINE

FANTINO: Was away from the gate quickly, set the pace through some

splits but tired late in the drive to finish fifth, a little more than two lengths

off the lead. Is a threat to take it all the way next out.

ILLUSIVE GUY: Was racing in midpack early on, then made a solid

middle move to get into second but flattened out late to finish fourth. Fits

with NW3L claimers on the turf.

KINDERSCOUT: Raced forwardly from the start, got clear on the turn but

gave way late to finish third. Needs a better pace scenario next out to graduate.

MAJOR GOLD: Stalked the pace from the two path, was blocked in early

stretch but didn’t have enough left and finished fourth at 30-1; follow with

maidens on the turf.

MIMI’S PRIDE: Never got a breather on the lead battling from the start and

tiring as they entered the stretch. Follow right back with straight three year

old claimers.

ROWAN EXPRESS: Was quickly clear to the lead, held a clear advantage into

the stretch but could not hold on late and finished third. Six furlongs is a better

 fit for this speedster.

4STARSPECIAL: JEANNE’S HONOR: Closed well to finish second last out

on the turf at 14-1, finishing behind the favorite. Like her chances under

 similar conditions.

LONGSHOT: FIRST QUARTER: Stalked a very quick pace while racing three

wide, was in contention as they approached the stretch before tiring to finish

third. Follow right back in turf sprint at a price.

ELLIS PARK

BOGANGLES: Moved up to the allowance level last time and found himself over

his head so a drop back into claimers can do the trick.

ELEGANT FAME: May have been used up chasing the pace from the start

and began to tire in the drive to finish seventh. The price will be right with

midlevel claimers.

ISLAND SAGA: Was away quickly from the start of the race last out, battled

on the lead through some solid splits but tired a bit late to finish fifth.

 Fits nicely with $20k claimers.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Raced towards the back of the pack early on last out but

did come with a very fast late run to finish second. Fits with maiden special

weight foes.

KIAWAH: Ran on well for fourth last out with $30k claimers for the

Romans barn and should continue to move forward off that effort.

LINEOFBULL: Chased the quick pace from the start and stayed on well

for second behind the favorite and must be respected with NW1X allowance

 foes, stay close.

PURE SYMMETRY: Has shown speed in all her starts so far and held on

for fourth last out in her best performance of her career. Should wire two

year olds at Ellis Park.

SOCIAL PROBATION: Trailed the field in 10th from the start behind

reasonable splits and closed strongly to finish second. Is sharp now so follow

back with similar.

STORM A BREWING: Made a big move from seventh into third but could

not get to the top two and tired late for fourth; solid connections.

WATER GAP: Always puts in an honest effort but he caught a very tough

money allowance field last out and would need some class relief to show his best.

4STARSPECIAL: DOC ROBBINS: Is in top form right now and ran a very big

second when moved up into allowance company and should continue his sharp form.

LONGSHOT: MAGO: Showed good speed last out when stretched out in

distance and was still there as they approached the top of the stretch but

tired in the drive to finish sixth. A drop into maiden claimers should do the trick.
