HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

WOODBINE

ARCHER’S DREAMER: Showed good speed last out versus NW2L allowance

foes in a race switched to the dirt and will be one to watch with a switch back to

 the turf, follow.

FEISTY SNOWMAN: Broke a bit slow from the inside post last out, made up

some ground down the backstretch to get into contention and stayed on well for

 third behind the two favorites.

JULE’S HOPE: Failed as the favorite last out after setting some very quick fractions

and she tired in the drive, a turnback gets her a maiden win.

MIND READER: Trailed the field from the start behind moderate fractions but

did make a move while wide to close the gap late and finish fourth. Needs some

pace up front to get the job done.

PASSERINE: Dropped down from $25k to $12.5k last out and closed some

ground late after racing far back early on. Was claimed from that race and

must be respected versus better.

SIZE MATTERS: Battled head to head for the lead through the first quarter mile,

opened up that lead heading into the turn but tired to finish fourth in the stretch;

a slight turnback to six furlongs makes him very tough.

4STARSPECIAL: FRIENDLY THERESA: Tired in the drive to finish fourth last out

behind the favored winning entry and close second choice but that finish wasn’t

that bad as she took pressure throughout; will be tough with a better pace scenario.

LONGSHOT: CHOREOGRAPHY: Was not that far back behind a 44:3 half mile,

made a move into the place spot heading into the stretch but tired when it counted

to finish fifth; stay close at a big price.

PHILADELPHIA

EDGE OF A KISS: Looms a front-running threat both here and at Penn National.

 Don’t overlook.

HAWK HILL: Merits strong consideration on the local lawn. Going good at present.

HOLD HARD: Lost by seven lengths but finished third and was 10 lengths clear of

the fourth horse after a wide trip from an outside post. Try again.

OVERTIMEANGIE BABY: Worked a five furlong bullet in 1:02 breezing on 8/30

in anticipation of the return of live racing at the Pha. Ready.

SHREDDED: May have been in slightly over his head up at Saratoga, but fits

much better on the grass here or in New Jersey or Maryland.

STYLISH N ADORABLE: Wasted no time getting back on the track when training

resumed at the Pha on 8/29. Looking sharp.

THATSMORELIKEIT: Hesitated at the start and then rushed up and ended up

finishing second despite nearly losing all chance at the break. May show up live

 at Monmouth for Servis.

VALID VICAR: Ready to roll after drilling a four furlong bullet workout in :47.4

 breezing on 8/30. Tab.

YES WE CAN: Finished sixth but was beaten by only 3 1/2 lengths when last seen

at Philly. Don’t overlook.

4STARSPECIAL: ELEGANT PARADOX: Made a big wide middle move and flattened

out en route to a third-place finish. Can win for Aristone off the claim.

LONGSHOT: RAGING RAPIDS: Rushed up too close too soon in an attempt to

stay close to a loose-on-the-lead wire-to-wire winner. Finished just a couple lengths

off the board after getting caught by closers.
