HORSES TO WATCH
By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB
DELAWARE
CASUAL: Rated a touch off pace then rallied to score in latest when she remained
popular at the claim box, in fact a re-claim by trainer Peter Klesaris; right back.
FIVE ALARM BLAZE: Went evenly for fourth in latest, but when making her first
start via Calder; race over track helps, and she appears capable of better.
JOHN LITTLE: Showed little in latest, a rare clinker for veteran, and can be
given a chance to rebound; rallies late.
PIONEER EMPIRE: Rallied for fourth in hot sprint when moved to turf for the
first time in his latest; headed in right direction.
TRUE GOLD: Will likely move forward following third-place finish as the beaten
favorite in her first start since mid-August; have long liked this filly.
UNCLE DIVSIE: Failed as the favorite most recently, but didn’t have much of
a pace to attack racing near the rear early; gets there off honest early set up.
WESTERN TIMES: Made pace and drew out to lengthy victory when cut back to
sprint October 1; addition of blinkers has her back on her game, so it seems.
WINZALOT: Showed speed and tired to third behind blowout winner in his useful
career debut; plenty of pedigree appeal adds to attraction here.
4STARSPECIAL: ARRANGEMENT: Middle moved to contention and stayed
on in fairly even fashion thereafter when fifth most recently; note, lack of pace was
no help.
LONGSHOT: BELLO VICTORIO: Went in fairly even fashion for fourth in latest,
and when turned back to sprint off a pair of routes; figures sharper going forward.
TURF PARADISE
GIGHA: Didn’t have chance to fire best shot in latest when hung wide and a tired
sixth at the finish as a result; another chance.
GROUND ZERO HERO: Ten-time winner figures primed for move forward following
latest fourth-place finish in which he gave chase off a brief layoff; steps up.
JILL CLASSY: Pressed the pace while wide and battled throughout en route to
neck victory at square ticket most recently; takes another.
MEMOFROMTHELADY: Broke last of 10 but rallied strongly to draw out for
lengthy score as winning favorite most recently; takes another in this form.
OK GIRL: Took some tote play but never really got on track when seventh in her first
attempt over this course; another chance.
PLUM RED: Rallied from well back to finish second as the beaten favorite in his
latest; needs pace and racing luck, but can atone.
PROUD ELLEN: Continued her move forward in form when a closing second off
switch to the turf for latest; sharp now, so don’t ignore.
STARS ARE FREE: Gained late when along for third in latest return trip over course;
brings acceptable overall profile.
4STARSPECIAL: MISS FREEDOM: Had two-race win streak snapped when
hiked up the class ladder to stakes company for latest; bounces back.
LONGSHOT: BENT SUZE: Broke a bit slow and was never able to make the pace
in latest chased/tired trip; sharper for second start off brief freshening.
