HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

TAMPA BAY DOWNS

BEST CHUM: Deep closer didn’t get a great pace to run at last out and passed tired rivals in the lane to finish fourth, may need some class relief to show his best.

BOASTFUL: Veteran seven year old made a big move down the backside to open up the lead but tired to finish fourth, backclassy sort handles turf or dirt.

BRONSONSTORM: Was sent off at 20-1 last out and easily outran those odds as he gamed it out to the wire just missing by a neck after stalking the early pace, respect right back with NW2L claimers.

CATCHTHEGROOM: Broke running from the rail post last out, rushed up to the take lead through some solid fractions of 21:4, 45:2, but tired because of it in the lane and finished fifth, dangerous speed, tab.

PROSPECT KID: Seven year gelding made a big move from seventh into second but could not sustain that run and settled for third, should be set for best next out.

SARATOGA JULES: Always shows sharp early speed and most recent send from the 10 post was solid until they hit the stretch when he tired to finish 10th, a drop will do.

4STARSPECIAL: CODYS LUCKY APPEAL: Trailed the field early on behind some very solid fractions but did put in a good close to run down to the two pacesetters to score as the lukewarm favorite, repeats right back.

LONGSHOT: CITIPARROT: Put in a good effort last out, racing up close to the pace and still running on very game to the wire to finish third at 42-1, price play.

LAUREL

HONOR PRAYER: Has put in a pair of fair efforts since moved to allowance company following claim by trainer Bailes; barn has flexibility to set up score now.

HONOR STUDENT: Angled wide and rallied for second in an impressive performance on December 11; barn has connected at nearly 30-percent rate this year from limited starts.

JOHNNY OLA: Rallied for second in crowded group and in spite of traffic trouble most recently; fires best in upcoming third start of form cycle.

MOCHA LATTE: Tried stakes company as a maiden in her latest, when slow break proved too much to overcome; follow Eppler runner with maidens.

ONLY THE BEST: Will only improve upon favored loss in latest, in which he lost all chance at the break; fresh face proves wise claim for trainer Rolon.

OUT OF FOCUS: Raced with the pace while wide in latest and stayed on to finish a very nice third; eligible for NW2L condition and a major player if able to make the early lead.

SENOR CIELO TWO: Rated and rallied to live up to favored billing in latest win, and was claimed; proven veteran keeps on rolling.

STAR WISHING: Has confidently been risen in class by barn since beginning of career and appears headed in right direction from form standpoint; stamp maiden win past due.

TOUR DANCE: Never factored in slop most recently when he had three-race win streak snapped; capable on dirt as well as turf, he figures to bounce back before long.

WHO WAS: Chased and came up empty over sloppy ground most recently, and must be given another chance given conditions; eligible for NW2L spots.

4STARSPECIAL: GOLD CLUSTER: Rallied from far back and wide to pick up second in his latest start, a nice rebound from ambitious DeFrancis spot; gets back in win column.

LONGSHOT: LUCKY GEISHA: Broke towards rear then rushed to battle on pace before fading in her latest; major factor when in with NW3L types.
