The beautiful thing about writing this column is that I can say what’s on my mind. Sometimes I’m biased based on my personal experiences and I must declare that this is the case in the following story.
On October 31, 2007 the Ohio State Racing Commission announced that it had issued a one year suspension and $1000 fine to trainer Sean Gilbraith and Tabitha Elmore, who is registered as a groom and also the back-up outrider at Northfield Park for allegedly manipulating the draw for post positions at Northfield Park.
Mr. Gilbraith and Elmore have both appealed the rulings. No further information as to how the two allegedly manipulated the draws during the time period from July 21, 2007 to October 6, 2007 has been made available. Note these dates are very important in the story.
Despite the appeal Gilbraith has been excluded from racing at Northfield Park as the track
