#6 Tapceptional

Plus play an exacta box w/#5 Sand City

#6 Tapceptional was in it throughout until fading late for third in 6 1/2F career debut effort that would have been much better and resulted in a much higher speed figure had it been at today’s distance of 6F instead. Finished third in that debut for trainer David Donk, who doesn’t even try with his first starters. This horse will improve here in the second lifetime start, but doesn’t even need to in order to win.

Play in exacta box w/#5 Sand City, who will have a serious shot in this spot if able to replicate his efforts from his first two races last fall here at Belmont Park, where he ran second twice against maiden special weights. Toss out the turf experiment last time out. He’s back on the turf where he belongs, and gets Castellano aboard in a positive sign of trainer intent.

Race 8

#4 Feeling Bossy

Will be tested today at 1 ½ miles, but handled the stretch to 1 ¼ miles last time out with flying colors with a good speed figure, and there’s no reason to believe the distance here will cost her the race. Loves this turf with 3 wins in 4 career outings on the Belmont grass, and just loves to win in general with a 3-race winning streak and 5 wins in her last 7 outings.
