Speed figures beat these, and this stakes-placed horse has plenty of back class. The drop versus easier here should get him over the hump.

Play in exacta box w/ #2 Steamboat Bill, who has gotten very good lately and now picks up Castellano off a win last time out here at Saratoga. Go with the hot hand with the positive jockey move at 12-1 odds on the morning line to fill-out your exacta boxes.

#5 Bourbon Empire

Tried turf a couple times this summer, but really is a dirt horse and returns to his best surface where he earned his only win and 4 of his 5 in-the-money finishes so far. First-time gelding faced tougher fields when last seen on the dirt, and his best effort will be good enough to take down this prize at value-packed odds of 6-1 on the morning line.
