Back on the dirt for Todd Pletcher who is shooting for the training title and entering everything he’s got that’s ready to win throughout closing weekend. Good form on the turf, but his horse’s best career effort came on the dirt and he takes a big drop in class today in versus an easy field as Pletcher does whatever it takes to get wins..

#2 Shalako

Plus play an exacta box w/#1 Indebted

#2 Shalako didn’t turn in his usual good effort last time, but didn’t handle post 12 there and deserves another chance today with Jose Ortiz showing up for the mount.  Good post today in the first race off the claim by Lind Rice, who has had a very good Saratoga meet with 14 wins. Go back in the pps and you see that this horse’s usual turf effort will be good enough to do no worse than second in this field, and despite last time we already know Shalako loves this turf course with 2 victories here already.

Play in exacta box w/ #1 Indebted, who ran a really good effort last time to be second after a poor break took away his best chance at the start. Can turn the tables on the horse that beat him last time with a better start, and should not be kept out of the exacta boxes at a nice price of 8-1 odds on the morning line.
