Popped and stopped in the career debut after getting hooked in a three-way battle for the lead for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, who is not known for cranking up his horses for their first starts but really has them ready to roll second-time out. Expect the usual second-out improvement for this barn, who will go a lot further and a lot faster and go all the way today at one mile.

#2 Awesome Song

Plus play an exacta box w/#1 Kahrumana

#2 Awesome Song suffers from second-itis a lot, but is the best of this field and is an absolute must in the exacta boxes at a value price in today’s race thanks to a sub-par effort last time. Returns to Belmont where she’s hit the exacta in both career outings so far, has beaten some of today’s main competition in recent races with speed figures that stack up well vs. these, gets a good post, and has the speed to be prominent throughout.

Play in exacta box w/ #1 Kahrumana, who graduated two races ago for top turf trainer Chad Brown, and then ran a solid performance for third last time out in the first try at this allowance level. Win came at Belmont, ans now she gets back to potentially her preferred turf course.
