#1 Archer Road owns a good pace advantage in this spot here in
the Sunshine Millions Turf as a horse that figures to sit comfortably off of
what shapes up as a very fast pace in a race that is overloaded with early
speed horses. Toss out the 2-mile fiasco last time out and you have a horse
that ran a solid effort with a good speed figure when last raced at today’s 1
1/16th-mile distance. Owns 5 career wins on this turf course and
plenty of good performances at or around this distance.
Play in exacta box with #6 Class and Cash, who could very
well be the best and most consistently good horse in this race, so it certainly
would be no surprise to see him win or at least hit the exacta. The problem is
that he’s going to need to bring his “A” game because he is a front-runner in a
race that is overloaded with speedy pace horses that he will need to overcome.
Likes this turf course and is a 13-time career winner on turf. In good form
with four straight exacta finishes including back-to-back in stakes races,
first with a win in the Laurel Dash two races ago followed by a solid second in
the Million Turf Preview last time out.

Has been knocking around in
these kind of races without too much success, but quietly got a lot better last
time out and tipped that perhaps graduation day is finally here. It helps that
this is an easier spot, and there’s potentially not a lot to beat in this field.
Speed figures are high compared to these rivals, and he should have finished a
lot better than fourth last time out if not for trouble early in the race that
put him too far back in the pack. Castellano returns for the mount.
