Race 5
#1 Opportunistic
Plus
play exacta box w/#8 Ship Stalker
#1 Opportunistic exits a strong wire-to-wire win last time
with a solid speed figure after apparently improving for this new trainer off
the claim. Doesn’t need a clear solo lead to win. Should beat these with
something close to a repeat of that last race.
Play in exacta box with #8 Ship Stalker, who is a live
longshot here, at least in the exactas, based on morning line odds of 15-1.
Toss out the 1 ½-mile fiasco loss last time out, and go back to the race before
which was at this much more reasonable route distance of 1 1/16-miles and you
will see this horse ran a good speed figure in a respectable effort in a $90k
allowance race. Looks much better at this level and could be a nice price.
Race 7
#10 Mr. Tickle
Broke last in an 11-horse field when needing a race off an
11-month layoff. Adept on both turf and dirt and ran well off the claim by
Broberg, who again has go-to-rider David Cohen aboard. Likes the track here at
Oaklawn and has some races in the PPs that can knock off the big favorite in
this race. Looks good in second off the
layoff.
