SPOT PLAYS
Race 7
#4 Brown
Suga Babe
Won big in three
of her last four races including two wins right here at Aqueduct in one-turn
miles, and especially looked good last time in her 2 ¾-length victory. Cuts
back a furlong in distance to 7F today but fits well against this field and
can-do at this distance based on a repeat of her efforts in any of her recent
wins.
Race 8
#3 Doc Sullivan
Plus
exacta box with #8 General Banker
#3 Doc Sullivan
was one of the two best NY-bred 3yos this year with a win in the Mike Lee
Stakes and second-place finishes in the New York Derby and Albany Stakes, which
were both at longer distances. Now returns to the 7F distance of the Mike Lee
win and is well-suited to beat this bunch at 7F.
Play in
exacta box with #8 General Banker, who now makes his sixth start since
returning from a layoff with a sprint prep at Saratoga in late July. Since then
owns an allowance win here at Aqueduct and was not embarrassed last time when
mid-pack in the $250,000 Empire Classic, which was way beyond his best distance
at 1 1/8 miles. Now cuts back to 7F and meets a field he stacks up well against
today.
