SPOT PLAYS
Race 2
#5 Bastet
Has not won in a long time but is poised in this spot to
get the first win in a while down at this bottom class level and against a bad
field. Returned from a layoff last time with a solid second-place finish that
would result in a win in today’s spot, and should even improve off of that last
outing in this second start in return from the sidelines.
Race 8
#5 Danseur d’Oro
Plus exacta box with #4 Shaman Princess
#5 Danseur d’Oro Chased a loose-on-the-lead wire-to-wire
winner on a speed-biased day and was good enough for second in comeback off a
seven-month layoff. Speed figure stacks up vs. this field and she’s likely to
improve in the second off the layoff here.
Play in exacta box with #4 Shaman Princess, who was a first
starter blew the break in 22-1 career debut outing for Rudy but then rushed up
and outran the other speeds to finish second, beaten less than a length by the
perfect-trip even-money favorite. Came back last time and wasn’t as good on a
wet track, but now adds blinkers and easily could rebound and be dangerous.
