Red Route One
He is a one-dimensional pace dependent
closer and that running style doesn’t usually fit at Pimlico, but it should go
just right in this year’s Pimlico Special which is loaded with speed at 1 3/16
miles and should set-up for a late runner. Red Route One used a late rally to
win the G3 Essex Stakes at Oaklawn two races ago, his other wins came in races
like this where Red Route One was able to take advantage of this kind of fast
pace scenario.

tougher spot in the G1 Ashland last time and gets class relief today. The race
before last was a sharp 3-year-old debut when clearly second in Aqueduct’s
$200k Busher Invitational, and a repeat of either of her two outings so far
this year should make her a winner in this spot.

in exacta box with #6 Paris Lily, who sprang to life last time with a
wire-to-wire win at Keeneland in her best career effort to date. Getting good
at the right time and has the speed to once again get to the lead and may prove
tough to catch.
