Pistol got caught in a multi-horse fight for the lead and never got a
breather up front and ran on for second, seven lengths clear of third to races
ago behind a repeat next-out winner, and then finished third last time off the
claim by Linda Rice his is battling for the training title. May not have liked
the mud but now will benefit from a return to a fast track. Ready to graduate.
Play in
exacta box with #4 Runamor, who exits a loss in the same race as Omaha Pistol but
really had no business in that 6 1/2F sprint. Now stretches back out to the
wheelhouse mile distance where she has a good streak of close second-place
finishes already showing in the past performances.
