#2 Escapewithfriends has
run two good turf sprints in two tries so far, including a second last time out
at Saratoga at 5 1/2F, and definitely would have benefitted from an extra
half-furlong. Now returns to Belmont and returns to 6F, which was the distance
of the sharp career debut effort where she got off to a bad start but then rallied
for from 12th to second in a big effort. Ready to graduate.
Play in exacta box with #8 Stella Mars, who has been
knocking on the door with three straight second-place finishes, including two
in a row in key races where the horse that beat her has since already come back
Lost a tough
allowance race at Saratoga with the impossible post 12 outside draw, but all
the other recent outings have been solid and he gets a much better post
position today. Lost by just a length against allowance horses two races ago,
and won three races ago when last seen at today’s class level. Has beaten
several of today’s rivals on the turf and looms the horse to beat.
