#6 Fair Haired Boy joins
the high percentage barn of Tony Dutrow and has been good in recent races but
with no luck, first racing too close up to a blazing pace en route to a
third-place finish two outings ago in a longer race, and then cutting back last
time and charging home too late after losing ground when shuffled back earlier
in the race. Can turn the tables on the ones who beat him last time.
Play in exacta box with #7 Lyrical Poet, who goes out for
turf sprint specialist trainer Wesley Ward and comes in off a big speed figure last
time out when second by a neck behind a repeat winner at Kentucky Downs. Tough
to keep out of the exacta boxes with his usual good effort.
Got blocked for
much of the stretch run in return race off nearly a five-month layoff two races
ago, and finished a very unfortunate fifth, just a nose out of third and beaten
two lengths but with the worst trip. Was in too tough last time in the Grade 3 Bold
Ruler, but now returns to the proper class level and just needs a clean trip to
post the upset.
