#6 Breakfastatbonnies was
a winner from Saratoga that returned from almost a four-month layoff last time
out and had to battle it out up front on a live 6 1/2F pace. Beat the other
speeds but got caught by the closer in the late stages due to the earlier
efforts while holding on for second and should be even better today in the
second start off the layoff for high percentage trainer Danny Gargan.
Play in exacta box with #10 Fair Regis, who ran a clear
second off a 2-month layoff behind only a wire-to-wire winning 8-5 favorite
last time out on the main NY circuit at Belmont. Lost at Finger Lakes last time
when not handling a sloppy sealed racetrack, but is ready for a positive
turnaround here and is a massive overlay at 12-1 odds on the morning line.
Bumps up the value of the exacta boxes.
#7 Hammerin Aamer
In great form
since the claim by the current barn, rattling off two dominant wins in a row
including a mile win last time out against some of today’s top competition.
Earning big speed figures and Jose Ortiz is back for the mount. Likely to make
it three in a row at a fair price on the tote board.
