#6 Mariachi returned as a new gelding and ran well for third in comeback from a six-month layoff and the margin of defeat was inflated behind a runaway winner. Was once again unfortunate last time when in a tough spot up against a prohibitive favorite vs. the winning 2-5 favorite Speak Easy and settled for second. Set for a winning effort against today’s field.

Play in exacta box with #3 Forrest City, who returned from a six-month layoff last time and ran pretty well despite needing the race. Now is set for improvement in second off the layoff and is very dangerous as a horse that has finished in the exacta in 6 of his 13 career races. Irad Ortiz picks up the mount and this looks like an ideal exacta horse.

#3 Dazzling Cruiser

Bill Mott first starter had to come from behind in slow paced career debut at a mile last time but still finished fast to close well late for third behind a lone speed winner. Just needs decent pace to chase.
