Needed a race
off an eight-month layoff two races ago but ran a sneaky good race to pass
horses for fourth, just a neck out of second. Last time went up in class and got off to a terrible start that cost
him a better chance. Now drops a few levels in class and should be good against
today’s competition.

#3 Piper’s
Factor invades from Woodbine after a highly successful switch to the turf
last time with a stakes win at this distance on yielding turf with a good speed
figure. Now lands in a similar kind of stakes spot and should benefit from
less-than-firm turf here again today.
Play in
exacta box with #2 Take Me to Church, who was in contention in the
stretch last time in his U.S. debut in the G3 Saranac Stakes until getting
wiped out in the stretch and failing to finish. Likes softer turf conditions
and should get that here, and obviously fits well against this level of
competition after running well last time against better.
